    Loosely based on a history of the penal system by French philosopher, Michel Foucault, this physical-theater piece examines the functions of power.

  • The Waterwoman

    by Naphtali Leyland Fields-Forbes

    June 16th-18th & 23rd-25th

    Inspired by oral histories taken from the area, this original play uses storytelling, comedy, and music to highlight the Down East region.

Jay Skrilletz Playwriting Prize

May 22nd-27th; Performance May 27th 

A state-wide playwriting competition catering to young Mainers ages 16-25. The winning writer receives a $1,000 prize and a week-long workshop at Stage East culminating in a staged reading.
